Registered Nurse (RN)
We are pleased to offer full and part time hours, and every other weekend off. Evening and night shift positions.
Job description
Part-Time and full time permanent Registered Nurses for evening/night shifts. 45 hours bi-weekly and 75 hours bi-weekly with opportunities to pick up vacant shifts. Availability for every other weekend is necessary.
The work involves care for seniors and supporting PSW and registered staff as needed in a Long-term Care setting.
Computer experience using Point Click Care is an asset.
To qualify you must be registered with the CNO and meet all Ontario regulations/certification as a nurse in Ontario.
As a team leader you will provide support and direction during your shift and are an excellent communicator as you will routinely interact with resident family members, doctors and others from the public.
We have a good working atmosphere and wages are based on the collective agreement rates.
Personal protective equipment is provided for all staff members and on-site screening of each persons entering the facility.

Job Description
Works under the close supervision of the Administrator & Director of Care, by assisting in a supportive role, which includes the documentation of a variety of information.
Consults with various staff members regularly as required to ensure effective communication and information sharing.
Must be able to keep accurate records of all relevant data collected.
Must be able to organize data and relevant information relating to various job tasks and able to effectively report issues to various departments as they arise.
Ability to interact well with staff and other members of the management team, and participate in management meetings as requested by the Administrator.

It is clearly understood by both parties that the Medical Office Assistant position is a supportive role for the Administrator, and not a supervisory position. Any direction given to staff or enforcement of the Home’s policies and procedures will be the direct responsibility of the Director of Care or Administrator.
General Duties & Responsibilities
Admissions, Discharges & Transfers:
Use of Point Click Care (PCC) internet based documentation system to set up newly admitted residents
Use of Health Partner Gateway (HPG) Ministry of Health’s internet based documentation system: Includes informing Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) re empty bed, getting resident medical profile for review by the Director of Care/Nurse. Ensure residents wanting to transfer to another room (internal wait list re semi-private/private room) are added to PCC wait list, and ensure internal transfer takes place prior to informing CCAC via HPG of vacant bed.
Removal/update resident downloaded/printed files re HPG. I.e. “wait list”.
Prepare Resident Admission Agreements for new admissions, schedule appointment time for signing of new admission, copy completed Admission Agreements for residents after signed/completed, get physiotherapy consent form to nurses station.
Review new employee hires: Ensure new employee hire package checklist is completed. Inform administrator of all new hires status regarding probationary period and inform the Director of Care. This would include monthly summarized sick time status.
Write up sick time/doctor’s note letters: This is reviewed and completed every three months (Jan-Mar/Apr-Jun/Jul-Sep/Oct-Dec) completed letters original goes to employee after reviewed by Administrator and Director of Care (Copy to all concerned).
Fill out Health card forms to renew resident health cards or to replace lost/missing health cards.
Assist in keeping all policy manuals up to date and in a complete form, ensure duplicate policy manuals are all the same.
Assist with (POC) Point of Care setup, as it is implemented. This includes any associated training.
Responsible for helping to keep the Administrator & Director of Care abreast of business and employee related concerns/issues by passing on information considered important in helping day-to-day smooth operations.
Assists Administrator & Director of Care in looking into family/resident related concerns, and its related follow-up.
Take minutes of meetings as requested by Administrator & Director of Care.
Maintains/updates contacts on Administrators computer utilizing Microsoft Outlook.
Performs other related duties as required

Staff Schedule
Responsible for “Call-ins” (covering any vacant shifts). Call staff when shifts need to be covered at the last minute (RN’s as well)
Rotational Call in basis, seek approval for overtime from DOC/Administrator offered to staff by seniority. Use agency when required.
Staff Scheduling
Follow up with sick calls, schedule changes & requests from staff. Must follow Collective Agreement and discuss with Administrator or Director of Care to ensure all are aware

Respond to Employee requests for Time off (Vacation/FSH/Lieu Days). Provide alternate choices for time off if necessary. Follow Collective Agreement language regarding seniority to determine approval.

Monitor and ensure attendance forms are received and coincide with any sick calls/Time off
Weekly
Marketing Report
Record the Weekly Marketing Report every Friday and send to Assured Care. Ensure all departments hand in their reports and copy information into file on computer by 2 pm on Fridays.
Stock Nursing Forms
Replace any Nursing Forms with updates of new residents/removal of deceased residents
Hair Care Services
Provide Hair Stylist with updated Client List on Tuesdays

Use Call-in binder to fill vacant shifts. Make sure updated Call-in sheet is in call in binder at all times.

Send documents to apply for Health card renewals on behalf of residents at family’s request
MSDS Sheets
Maintain up-to-date in MSDS binders in all departments. Use internet to locate MSDS sheets from various chemical providers (i.e. Glen Martin, Diversey, GFS). Individual departments responsible for notifying Ward Clerk of any new products being used.

Dietary Care Aide opportunity – Must Have 2 covid-19 Vaccination Doses
We have a great staff team and are looking to have one or two additional members to join our great environment.
The shifts are:
10:00am – 2:30pm and 11:00am – 7:00pm every other weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support resident preference and choice.
Assist with food and nourishment assembly.
Follow sanitation regulations and safe food handling practices at all times.
Serving food to residents following posted dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
Setting and clearing dining rooms.
Washing dishes, small wares and pots.
Rotating food and supplies and ensuring all stored and prepared food is properly labeled.
Follow all departmental policies and procedures
Participating in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program and other committees and teams as necessary.
